Adventure Stories

Peter Dalrymple (PDalrymple) on: Year 3 Class Blog

The children have thoroughly enjoyed writing some adventure stories based on the book ‘Stone Age Boy’ which we have been reading in class. As a class, the children decided that they would like to visit either space, Sweet Land or go back to the prehistoric era of the dinosaurs. They all wrote their stories based on the same construction of the story,  Stone Age Boy. We are looking forward to displaying them in our classroom for all to see!

Gymnastics

Peter Dalrymple (PDalrymple) on: Year 3 Class Blog

This week in PE, we have been focusing on balance using different parts of the body. We have been learning about points and patches and using these types of balances to create a short sequence. The children worked in pairs to share ideas and they enjoyed sharing their sequences with the rest of the class. We actually have some amazing gymnasts in year three so watch this space!

We are geologists!

Peter Dalrymple (PDalrymple) on: Year 3 Class Blog

This week in science we started our new topic on 'Rocks and Soils'. We began by looking at natural rocks and exploring what is meant by igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic tocks. The children learnt how the different rocks are formed (which they were very excited about!!) and then they explored their properties. The lesson over ran as they were very interested in finding out more!
