Department for Education Performance Tables provide detailed analysis of Adel St John the Baptist C of E Primary School and other schools’ performance against a variety of measures.
Attainment: expected standard
83% of our pupils achieved the expected standard in Reading, Writing and Maths, combined. This is significantly above the national figure of 61%.
The proportions reaching national expectations for each subject, and for Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling, are also all significantly above national figures:
- Reading: 86% met expected standards (national: 74%)
- Writing: 90% met expected standards (national: 72%)
- Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling: 86% met expected standards (national: 72%)
- Maths: 90% met expected standards (national: 73%)
Another measure used to analyse the assessment data is average scaled scores. ‘Scaled scores’ are the scores given to each pupil based on the test score, where 100 is the expected national standard (80 is the lowest possible, 120 is the highest).
- Reading: 108 is the average scaled score (national: 105)
- Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling: 109 is the average scaled score (national: 105)
- Maths: 108 is the average scaled score (national: 104)
- Attainment: greater depth (higher level)
Proportions reaching greater depth standard levels (scaled scores of over 110) are also consistently higher than national. 21% of our pupils achieved greater depth in Reading, Writing and Maths, combined. The national figure is 8%.
- Reading: 38% reaching greater depth (national: 29%)
- Writing: 24% reaching greater depth (national: 13%)
- Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling: 52% reaching greater depth (national: 30%)
- Maths: 55% reaching greater depth (national: 24%)
Progress
There were no Key Stage 1 assessments due to Covid, and therefore there are no progress scores. This is a national issue.
