Dear Parents, Carers

I hope this email finds you well.

We are delighted to announce the ArtForms Brass Development Day 2025. There has been a large amount of brass development work going on in Leeds over the last year. This is the first opportunity for a number of newly established training brass bands to join together with other brass learners across the city to make music on a larger scale. They will be teaming up with our very own youth music groups Leeds Schools’ Brass Ensemble (LSBE) and Leeds Schools’ Wind Orchestra (LSWO), to create a fantastic opportunity for skill sharing, workshops and performances.

We have aimed the day at students (Y4 and above) who play any brass instruments and who have been playing for at least one year. We would like to extend the invitation to any students having private lessons or non-Artforms school tuition.

There is no charge for taking part, but parents and carers are responsible for transport to and from Pudsey Civic Hall on the day.  Rehearsals will be staffed by qualified ArtForms teachers. If your child wishes to take part, please complete the online form (see below) before Friday 14^th February. You will then receive an email confirmation securing their place.

Students will not be allowed to not come if they have not returned the form as we would not be able to guarantee their safety.

This is expected to be very popular, so securing a place early is advised, we have a limited number of spaces so it will be strictly first come first served.

We will contact your child’s school with a list of the students attending the music day, but you will still need to notify your school yourself that your child will be absent.   

Schedule of the day:

 9.15 – 9.30am - Registration at reception

12.15-12.45pm – lunch (please bring a packed lunch and a water bottle) No students are allowed to leave the building during the event.

2.30pm - parents and carers arrive for sharing concert

3pm – End of concert and students picked up by parents / carers.
