Dear parent/carer,

Following improvements in the weather, we are planning on opening as normal on Tuesday 7th January.  Francis has cleared and gritted the paths and steps around school to make it safer, but please do take care as surfaces are still slippery. 

Do take extra care when travelling to school, as Long Causeway and the public paths near school are slippery.  Also, much of the playground is coated in a thick layer of snow, which has gone icy on top, so please no snow balls.

Do make sure your child comes warmly dressed for school.  An extra pair of socks in bags would be a good idea.  Due to the chance of becoming wet and cold, we will probably have an indoor morning and lunch break but allow the children to play in the snow towards the end of the school day.   

Apologies for the inconvenience of closing today.  As it happens, school was impacted by a local power cut which knocked out the heating and hot water too so we would have had to close anyway.  Power and heating is now restored. 

If anything changes over night I will send a message in the morning.  Otherwise, we will see you at 7.30am for breakfast club and from 8.30am when the gates open.
