Forecast for snow18 November 2024 (by Peter Dalrymple (PDalrymple)) |
Dear parent/carer,
The Met office have a yellow warning for snow from 9pm tonight until 4am in the morning. In the event of a heavy snow fall overnight we will do one of three things
- Open as normal as we are confident the site will be safe and staff are able to get in safely and on time.
- Delay the start of the school day to allow the paths and car park to be gritted and to allow staff additional time to arrive at work safely.
- As a last resort, shut the school for the day
If a delayed start or school closure is required we will notify you by:
- A message sent via the school mobile app as soon as a decision has been made.
- On the home page of our school website: https://www.adel-st-john.leeds.sch.uk/
- Leeds City Council School Closures section: https://www.leeds.gov.uk/schools-and-education/school-closures
Please do not ring school if it is snowing. The above methods will be our primary methods of communicating any changes to the usual day-to-day arrival or departure procedures.
