Letter from Mrs Hainsworth21 July 2021 (by Debra Dean (DDean)) |
To all the families at ASJ
I'm sorry I'm not there in person to say goodbye and thank you for everything you have done to support me and the school during my time at Adel St John. My decision to leave has been the toughest of my teaching career but prioritising my health and wellbeing has meant that it is the right decision to make. Of course, I am deeply sad to be leaving. ASJ has been so much more than simply a place of work, but I know that the school is ready for its next chapter.
I have spent my whole teaching career at ASJ and have been very fortunate and privileged to work with many wonderful children, staff and parents. I joined ASJ at a time of change and take great pride in being part of its success both as a teacher and Headteacher. From outstanding SIAMs and good Ofsted inspections to the various accreditations the school has achieved, it has grown and succeeded through tougher and tougher educational requirements.
However, it is the children of ASJ who have always been at the heart of everything. They provide the school with the excellent reputation it has in the wider community. Their understanding that the values taught make a difference to their lives is seen in the respect and care they show each other, in their generosity to strangers and in the joy they bring to each day. These are the moments that have given me the most pride over the years and these are the moments that I will cherish in the future.
Once again, I wish to say a special ‘thank you’ to you as parents for your wonderful support, over many years, which has meant a lot to me.
I wish everyone a safe and healthy summer.
Jane Hainsworth
