Year 6 Leavers' Event 23.7.2119 July 2021 (by Debra Dean (DDean)) |
Dear Year 6 parents and carers
I’m sure you are starting to feel some emotions around your child leaving Adel St John the Baptist and moving on to their next school. I know first-hand this can be a poignant and moving time and I have taken this into consideration with my plans for the Y6 leavers’ event.
We are planning on having the event outside, which would fit with the rule of ‘30 people being allowed to gather in an outdoor space’. Therefore, weather dependent, I have made the decision to allow one adult per pupil to attend the Y6 leavers’ event on the morning of Friday 23rd July.
I know a number of schools who are not having any parents on site. Therefore, in order for this to be safe, and follow health and safety risk assessment rules, the following must be adhered to:
- One adult per pupil can attend. If you can’t attend, your place is not to be given to another parent.
- Adults will not be allowed into the school building for any reason.
- There will be no mixing of adults and children.
- If the weather does not allow us to hold the event outside, there will be no parents attending the event.
Whether you attend or not, the event will be filmed by Mr Gleeson and emailed to you.
A member of staff will be at the Year 6 gate to take you, parents as a group, round to the event at 9.20am. The event will start at 9.30am. We will not be able to let anyone in who is late as we are short-staffed and unable to man the gate for more than the time allocated.
Fingers crossed it is a dry day and we can all meet, albeit apart, to celebrate the end of your child’s time at our school. Please email info@adel-st-john.leeds.sch.uk with the name of the parent attending for your child so we can ensure in advance that the 30 limit is adhered to. In the same email, please let us know if you do not give your consent for your child to be filmed during the event. The film will only be emailed to Year 6 parents and will automatically delete after a week. If we do not hear from you, we will assume that you are unable to attend the event and are happy for your child to be filmed.
Many thanks,
Emma Jackson
