Letter from the Governors

3 March 2021 (by Debra Dean (DDean))

Dear Parents, Friends and Children

You may already be aware, but this week Mrs Hainsworth has returned to working in school and will resume her responsibilities as Headteacher, supported by Miss Jackson as Deputy Head Teacher.

However, as the staff have today been informed, the Governors feel now is the right time to share some school news with you all. It is with regret we are informing you that, after long and very careful thought, Mrs Hainsworth has made the decision to retire at the end of this school year.

All the staff at Adel St John have worked amazingly hard throughout the last twelve months during, what proved to be, an unprecedented and challenging year. The successes of the last twelve months were, in no small part, due to Mrs Hainsworth working tirelessly to set the scene and create a foundation for school to open and operate at the best possible level.

Mrs Hainsworth joined Adel St John as Reception Class teacher in 2008 and, after being Deputy Head, became our Headteacher in 2015.

We have indeed been most fortunate to have her leadership skills and the Governors wish to put on record our grateful appreciation for all the dedication, energy, enthusiasm and compassion she has given to school.

We are sure you will join us in wishing her well for the future, and a long, healthy and happy retirement. Mrs Hainsworth will leave with our very best wishes and grateful thanks.

The governors would also like to extend huge thanks to Miss Jackson as she moves back to her position as our Deputy Head. We know that you will all appreciate the dedication that Miss Jackson has given to the school in the last five months and we know that you will continue to share that appreciation with her – the supportive comments that she has received from you along the way have been a real boost to her.

The process for welcoming a new Headteacher to our wonderful school has begun. The Governors are indeed working at pace, hoping this can be completed, so that we can welcome Adel St John`s new Headteacher in post, ready for September, and the start of the new academic year.

The Governors thank you for your continuing support for the school and will keep you further informed.
