Return to School3 January 2021 (by Debra Dean (DDean)) |
Dear Parents and carers
We hope you have all had a relaxing break and managed to enjoy Christmas with your loved ones.
As you will be aware, there has been great debate and coverage around whether schools should return in full with the government making another U-turn during the last few days.
We wanted to update you regarding our plans. At this present time, as advised by Leeds City Council, we are following the government directive to open as planned on Tuesday 5th January 2021. The government have said they expect children to return to primary school to start the new term (unless in a stipulated area). Therefore, school will be open, following the same timings and arrangements that we had in place before the Christmas break.
We will continue to follow the protocols and risk assessments that we successfully used last term and will once again need your support to help to reduce any possible risk of transmission. With this in mind we are now asking parents/carers to wear masks when dropping/collecting children. It's a polite reminder to us all that this pandemic is still here and not going anywhere just yet.
We will keep you updated of any changes as they occur, although it is important to note that we will find things out at the same time as you will, via the government announcements.
We recognise how difficult this time continues to be for everyone, but our strength is the way we have worked together and we will continue to do so in 2021.
As things currently stand, we look forward to welcoming your children back in school on Tuesday.
Thank you
